そうです、あだすが変なおじさんです。

患者さんから、

たまに聞かれます。

「先生は、なんでそんなに楽しそうなんですか？」

うーん……

私にもよく分かりません（笑）。

朝市では、

変な被り物をしています。

サッカー場でも、

変な被り物をしています。

研修会では、

戦国武将になります。

診察室では、

患者さんに怒られます。

公園では、

追い出されます。

家では、

妻にも怒られます。

……

でも、

毎日が楽しいんです。

なぜでしょう。

たぶん、

私は病気だけを見ていないからです。

人を見る。

街を見る。

笑顔を見る。

失敗も見る。

全部ひっくるめて、

「面白いなぁ。」

と思っています。

だから、

毎日ネタがあります。

患者さんは、

私に病気を教えてくれます。

でも、

もっとたくさん、

人生を教えてくれます。

私は、

その宿題を、

ブログに書いているだけです。

医療を街に置く。

難しいことではありません。

病院の中だけで考えないこと。

街へ出ること。

人と笑うこと。

時々怒られること（笑）。

そして、

また次の日も、

街へ出ること。

それを二十年以上続けたら、

いつの間にか、

「家庭医療」

と呼ばれるようになりました。

だから、

何か特別なことをしているわけではありません。

そうです。

あだすが変なおじさんです。

Yes... I'm That Strange Doctor.

Patients sometimes ask me,

"Doctor,

why do you always seem

to be enjoying yourself?"

To be honest,

I'm not entirely sure.

At the morning market,

I'm wearing

a ridiculous costume.

At the football stadium,

I'm wearing

another ridiculous costume.

During workshops,

I sometimes become

a samurai.

In my clinic,

patients occasionally

scold me.

At the park,

I once got thrown out.

At home...

well,

my wife still keeps me humble.

And somehow,

I'm still having fun.

Every single day.

I think I know why.

It is because

I don't spend my days

simply diagnosing diseases.

I diagnose

people.

Families.

Communities.

Sometimes,

I even have to diagnose

myself.

Every patient

teaches me

something about medicine.

But even more often,

they teach me

something about life.

Writing this blog

is simply

my way

of doing my homework.

Bringing healthcare into the community

isn't really

about bringing medicine

into the town.

It's about

never stopping

at the disease.

It is about

seeing the person.

Understanding the family.

Caring for the community.

Reflecting on yourself.

And always remembering

that tomorrow,

there will still be

something new to learn.

I've been doing that

for over twenty years.

Apparently,

people now call it

Family Medicine.

As for me...

I'm just

a slightly strange doctor

who enjoys

meeting people.

Yes...

I'm that strange doctor.
